CHARACTER AS A TOOL TO STRENGTHEN BELIEVERS
A transformed Christian becomes God’s tool to strengthen other believers by allowing the Holy Spirit to work through their character, words, and actions. Scripture shows that God shapes His people not only for personal holiness but also to edify, encourage, and build up the body of Christ.
1. A Vessel of Encouragement
A believer strengthens others by speaking life, hope, and courage.
- Encourage one another and build each other up — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
- Barnabas, the “son of encouragement” — Acts 4:36
- Comforting others with the comfort received from God — 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

2. A Model of Spiritual Maturity
God uses mature believers as examples for others to follow.

8. A Person of Faith and Hope

9. A Spirit‑Empowered Witness
The Holy Spirit equips believers to strengthen others through spiritual gifts.
- Gifts given “for the common good” — 1 Corinthians 12:7
- Prophecy strengthens, encourages, and comforts — 1 Corinthians 14:3
- Every part of the body supplies strength to the whole — Ephesians 4:16
Character evidence: sensitivity to the Spirit, willingness to use gifts, boldness.
