DO YOU DESIRE ADEQUATE PROVISION?
Read through.
The bible in the book of Genesis chapter 22 told a story about Abraham journey to sacrifice his only son on the behest of the God of heaven. Abraham was on the verge of sacrificing that son after journeying to the mountain for three days and tying up his son, Isaac.
Genesis 22 verses 11-17 told us how God through His Angel stopped Abraham and PROVIDED a lamb for the sacrifice. This earned God the name, 'Jehovah Jireh or Yahweh Yireh'; meaning, 'The Lord that provides'.
What is the underlinig thing here?
God commanded Abraham to undertake this journey to sacrifice his only son whom, he has waited for many many years before he was born. Abraham rose up the next day and carried out this command - Abraham OBEYED God.
It might not be easy for Abraham to do this but he understood that the Lord gives and takes; all things belong to God (Psalm 24 verse 1). Abraham journeyed for three day before he got to the mount of sacfrice, God neither stopped him nor provided an alternative then.
What is there for us?
Our journey on earth may appear lonely (without God's presence, love and input) just like Abraham's three day journey without God telling him anything. It could be exhausting; temptation of compromise very high. As a christain who has stayed with God for sometime understand that God is with us at all times; He desires your total surrend.
God desires our totally obedience and submission to His will and directives; God wants to make sure that all He will provide/ give us will be used wholly for His work and Him while we sojourn on earth.
Genesis 22 verses 16 -17 tells us about God's blessings unto Abraham afrewards. God specifically told Abraham that since he (Abraham) did not withold his only son, ' blessing I (God) will bless you, and multiplying I will multiple your descendants....'.
Now these blessings came after Abraham had obeyed the Lord; going through all turmoils that came with it while looking unto God. Abraham has been with God who has given him victory over his enemies, riches and so on but Abraham never gave God the name, GOD THAT PROVIDES.
Where is this taking us?
Abraham through this test came out stronger, understood God more, became more intimate with God, grew in love and transformation hence, a new name for God as God's friend (James 2 verse 23). This is exactly what God desires- a greater transformation in His love; a permanent intimacy with Him.
There is a version of you that is fit for the gifts and blessings you desire. God in His infinite mercy will prepare you before He bestows this gifts/blessings/provisions unto you.
Obedience to God will reveal His greater plan for you. Do not despair, do not be carried away by the noise of this world, the love of men may comfort you a while but the love of God is everlasting and sure.
Come unto Him (God); His thought for you are for good; to bring you to your expected end (Jeremiah 29 verse 11).
The provision of the Lord comes behind obedience to Him and His principles.
Do you desire greater provision? TRUST and OBEY God then, your provision is sure.
